Kerry Player Served Ban After Failed Drugs Test
Kerry footballer Brendan O'Sullivan served a suspension for a failed drugs test.
The Kerry County committee confirmed a sample taken after the 2016 Allianz Football League final defeat to Dublin tested positive for a banned substance.
They say that Sport Ireland accepted that the rule violation was not intentional and O'Sullivan co-operated with the investigation and served a ban.
Sport Ireland are due to publish their written ruling in the coming days.
O'Sullivan came in for Donnchadh Walsh after 55 minutes of the Kingdom’s 2-18 to 0-13 defeat at the hands of Dublin.
O’Sullivan did not play for Kerry again in 2016, but featured off the bench in the 2-17 to 1-17 win over Donegal in the Allianz League.
The Kingdom went on to win the competition, defeating reigning champions Dublin in the decider at Croke Park.
