I Didn't Get The Memo I'd Have To Do So Much Tackling! - Gordon D'Arcy
One thing that is guaranteed this St Patrick's Day at the RDS is the absolute craic!
The Ireland Legends take on the England Legends in what has become a traditional eve of Six Nations clash and a very hard fought battle.
Gordon D'Arcy takes to the field in this fixture for just the second time and joked to 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle that he wasn't expecting it to get so intense.
"I didn't get the memo that I was going to have to do so much tackling! But when you've got guys of the calibre of Mike Tindall, Ugo Monye, I think Mark Cueto's playing.
"And these guys are not too far out of the professional game and they all keep themselves in extremely good shape which is a complete parallel to the Irish team!"
"But this year now we've got some heavies coming in. I think we have Stephen Ferris holding the bag, we've got Ronan O'Gara making his debut, Shane Byrne obviously and Mick Galwey...the stalwarths."
Also joining that bunch of heroes will be Jerry Flannery, David Wallace, Marcus Horan, Mick O’Driscoll, Tony Buckley, Shane Jennings, Alan Quinlan, Liam Toland, Paddy Wallace and Gavin Duffy as they play this great match in honour of the late, great Anthony Foley.
The England Legends side boasts four World Cup medals and as well as the aforementioned will feature Ian Balshaw, Jason Leonard and many more.
Paul O’Connell and his old rival Lawrence Dallaglio will act as waterboys on the day.
