UCD Reveals Accommodation Plans As Housing Crisis Hits Students Hard
UCD has applied for permission to build campus accommodation for 3,000 people.
The country's biggest university has lodged an application under new fast-track planning rules.
It's looking for permission to double the height of apartment blocks on its Belfield campus, thereby doubling the number of students it can accommodate.
It would mean a total of 3,006 beds would be available across seven buildings.
It comes amid reports many students are still struggling to find accommodation in Dublin as the new term begins.
