Hundreds of Jobs Set to be Axed at RTE
At least 200 jobs will be lost at RTE over the next two years.
The state broadcaster is also selling off land as part of a massive cost-saving restructuring plan.
RTE has lost around 100 million euro in revenue since 2008 and radical action is needed to get the state broadcaster back in black.
Earlier today Director General Dee Forbes told RTE's Sean O'Rourke there could be 200-300 job losses.
Its radio, TV and digital output will be merged into new content divisions, and Ms Forbes said it will be clearer at that point how many roles will be cut.
Almost 9 acres of land on its Donnybook Campus is up for sale for 75 million euro.
Its hoped up to 500 apartments and houses could be built on the site.
Dee Forbes has also called for better collection of the license fee to recover 40 million lost by evaders.
