Dublin Homeowners Save Water When Paying For It
Water consumption plummeted across Dublin when charges were introduced in October.
However it rose the following month when the government changed its fee policy.
Official figures for Dublin show water usage was at its peak last September.
However when the charges were supposed to be introduced at the beginning of October, there was a significant drop.
Water usage went from an average of 543 million litres a day to less than 524 million litres.
However once it was confirmed that water chrages would not apply until 2015 water usage rose by almost 11 mlllion litres a day.
It indicates that customers will conserve water when they're footing the bill.
