Amnesty International Critical Of Our Abortion Laws
The latest annual report from Amnesty International is slamming Ireland's abortion laws.
It's found the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act doesn't comply with human rights obligations and doesn't provide enough guidance to doctors in assessing when a pregnancy poses a risk to life.
But the organisation has welcomed the gay marriage referendum and praised the removal of the offence of blasphemy from the constitution.
Amnesty is also highly critical of the global response to atrocities carried out by states and armed groups last year, sayinig it was shameful and ineffective.
