More Of Metro North Could Be Put Underground
Plans for Metro North could be revised again with more of the track being built underground.
It comes amid major controversy over traffic on College Green.
It's still not known exactly what infrastructure projects will be name-checked in the government's massive spending plan.
But according to The Irish Times today, senior ministers are taking another look at the long awaited Metro North.
Plans for the 17 kilometre route linking Stephen's Green with the Airport may be tweaked once again so that more of the track is put underground.
The subterranean section was scaled back in 2015 but could be re-instated as chronic traffic congestion on College Green continues to make headlines.
The government's due to publish its National Planning Framework this Friday.
