Manchester United's Champions League Campaign In Danger
Manchester United are in danger of qualifying for the Europa League after another turgid performance under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils needed a win to book their place in the last-16 of the Champions League but could only manage a scoreless draw against PSV Eindhoven.
Their best chance fell to Jesse Lingard who fired a shot just over the bar while midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin had a point blank effort saved.
If the three-time champs fail to win at Wolfsburg in the final round of Group B, matches they will end up in the Europa League if PSV also win at CSKA Moscow who were beaten 2-0 at home by the German side.
No such worries for their rivals Manchester City who were already qualified but failed to take their chance to seal top spot in Group D.
The Citizens were beaten 1-0 by Juventus in Turin thanks to a goal from Mario Mandzukic so the Serie A champs go to the top of the group and will seal it with a win at Sevilla in their last game.
The Spanish team were beaten 4-2 in Germany by Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach who take third place in the group.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic refused to celebrate when he scored at his hometown club Malmo as Paris St Germain sealed their spot in the knockout rounds with a 5-0 win in Group A.
Real Madrid are now guaranteed top spot in that group after they survived a stunning fightback from Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine to win 4-3, having led 4-0 at one point with Ronaldo bagging a brace.
Elsewhere La Liga side Atletico Madrid jumped back into top spot in Group C with a 2-0 home win against Galatasaray after Benfica had reached the summit earlier with a 2-2 draw away to Astana.
