Hurricane Gert To Hit Ireland This Weekend
This might out a dampener on your weekend plans...The tail end of a hurricane is set to pay Ireland a visit over the coming days.
According to Met Eireann, Hurricane Gert - which is currently causing havoc in the US - is going to keep Ireland in an unsettled regime.
There will be showers and the rain will be prolonged at time but we're not expecting any severe weather.
It looks like Saturday will be a fairly dry day but it looks like Gert will bring some very humid air over Ireland on Sunday. Temperatures will rise to the low twenties when there are any sunny breaks, but there's going to be a lot of cloud so we're not expecting any great weather.
There'll be some rain in the south west late on Saturday evening.
At the moment, there's likely to be some rain in Dublin in the middle of Sunday but that could change. Meanwhile, the rain will be persistent and sometimes heavy near west and north coasts.
Monday will be another cloudy day with spells of rain in all areas.
