Heartbreak For Marc Wilson - Ruled Out Of Euro 2016
Ireland manager Martin O'Neill revealed today that Stoke City player Marc Wilson has lost his battle to be fit for Euro 2016.
The versatile defender has been out of action since injuring medial knee ligaments in action against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup at the end of January.
At the end of last month his club boss Mark Hughes had offered some hope of Wilson recovering in time for the tournament.

It was not all bad news at the squad base in Abbotstown with Everton duo Seamus Coleman (hamstring) and James McCarthy (thigh) set to overcome their respective nigglesThere has been some squad trimming performed by O'Neill with Paul McShane, Alex Pearce, Johnny Hayes and Anthony Pilkongton cut but put on the standby list.
Meanwhile the American based Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) is due in today while Kevin Doyle (Colorado Rapids) is expected later in the week.
David Forde, Kieren Westwood and David Meyler have all remained in the UK due to their involvment in play-off finals.
