Citing Complaint Made Against Leinster's Hayden Triggs
A citing complaint has been made against Leinster second row Hayden Triggs who is alleged to have made contact with the eye area of the Montpellier scrum-half, Nic White.
The EPCR revealed this afternoon that a complaint was made by the match Citing Commissioner, Stefano Marrama, following the Blues' Champions Cup win against Montpellier last Friday.
Triggs is alleged to have made contact with the eye area of White in the 44th minute of the match at the RDS, in contravention of Law 10.4.
Under World Rugby's sanctions for foul play, contact with the eye(s) and/or eye area, carries the following sanction entry points; Low End: 12 weeks; Mid-range: 18 weeks; Top end: 24 to 208 weeks.
A three-person panel has been appointed as the independent Disciplinary Committee for the hearing which will take place in Paris tomorrow.
Meanwhile the same committee will also look at the incident which saw Montpellier outhalf, Francois Steyn, red carded for a dangerous tackle on Blues counterpart Johnny Sexton.
The sanctions for a dangerous tackle range from two to fifty-two weeks.
