Christmas Carol Service For Dogs Held At Christ Church
A carol service with a difference has been held at Christ Church Cathedral this afternoon.
It’s to celebrate the work of an organisation that brings pets into care homes. Peata provides a pet therapy service to care homes, bringing dogs to retirement homes, hospices and people with intellectual disabilities.
The service included a blessing of the dogs who barked along to all the Christmas classics. Bark the Herald Angels Sing! was just one of the carols performed at the service.
Lesley Rue from Peata, who helps organise the annual canine choir service, said "it's great to see the patients, the clients, the owners and the dogs have a good old sing-song and a bark of course", she said.
