Adams Named As New Sligo Boss
Sligo Rovers have appointed Micky Adams as their new manager. The former Leicester boss is taking over from caretaker duo Joey Ndo and Gavin Dykes.
Sligo are second from bottom in the SSE Airtricity League, with just 16 points from the 22 games. The club confirmed his appointment in a statement released Tuesday night.
Adams is taking over from caretaker duo Joseph Ndo and Gavin Dykes, and that he will be assisted in the role by ex-Nottingham Forest player Alan Rogers.
"The new management team will take up their positions immediately and will prepare the team for Saturday's home game against Cork City at The Showgrounds," the statement read.
"The appointments will be reviewed at the end of the season and the agreed priorities are preserving Sligo Rovers Premier Division status and continuing our involvement in the FAI Cup.
"The incoming management duo have made it clear that they see the challenge at Sligo Showgrounds as a test of their experience and ambitions. After the most successful period in the club's history, this is proving a difficult season for Sligo Rovers."
"The club hopes the new management team will provide the badly needed stability, boost to morale and improved results."
Micky Adams' last job was at Tranmere Rovers where he presided over their relegation from League Two. The 53-year-old has previously managed Port Vale, Sheffield United, Leicester City, Brighton, and Coventry City.
