Public Asked To Help Pick New Dublin Bus Look
The look of Dublin’s yellow and blue buses could be about to change. The National Transport Authority is looking for the public's opinion on helping choose a design which will be applied to new buses delivered from next year.
Under the new Bus Connects project, the chosen bus livery will be applied to the 24 current Dublin Bus routes recently awarded to new operator, Go Ahead, and will enter service in late 2018.
The changes are part of a planned overhaul of the bus network, which includes new routes, revamped bus corridors, and a cashless payment system which will include the use of credit and debit cards or smart phones to make payments.
As part of the overhaul, more than 120 buses will be funded and provided by the National Transport Authority. The news buses will all have a new-look design, which is referred to as the "livery".
