Three Dublin Beaches Fail EU Water Quality Tests
The water at three Dublin beaches have been classified as "poor".
The Environmental Protection Agency says three quarters of Ireland's bathing water are of excellent quality.
But Loughshinny, Merrion Strand and Portrane have again failed to meet EU standards.
That's because there's pollution that could potentially cause illnesses like skin rashes or stomach upsets.
Dr. Matt Crowe of the EPA said this was unacceptable as "all bathers should be entitled to feel safe from harm from the water they swim in when they spend a day at the beach."
