'Monster' Sewage Plant Planning Application is Being Prepped
Irish Water will apply for planning permission for a massive sewage treatment plant on the northside next year.
There has been massive opposition to the proposed facility at Clonshaugh.
Greater Dublin Drainage which will be in charge of the project. It also wants to build an underground orbital sewer from Blanchardstown to Clonsaugh and two pumping stations.
If given the go-ahead the plant would be four times the size of Croke Park.
Opponents fear the facility four times the size of Croke Park could damage the local environment.
GDD says the project is needed because of the growth of the population in Dublin and surrounding counties.
