Dublin Recovers From Storm Doris
Less than 200 homes and businesses are still without power in Dublin. At one point this morning there were outages in almost 7000 properties as Storm Doris battered the city.
Customers were left without electricity in Swords, Castleknock, Balbriggan, Ashbourne, Bray, Balgaddy, Naul, Ballyboden, Mulhuddart, Lucan and Deansgrange.
At the storm's peak there were 56,000 buildings in darkness across the country.
The county was hit with winds of up to 140 km/h and a severe weather warning remained in place until 9am.
However Met Eireann is warning that there will be gusts for the rest of the day.
The weather caused havoc with Intercity services, and Darts were delayed for up to 40 minutes because of fallen trees on the line.
Trees and branches were down causing hassle for commuters.
There are on-going delays to departures and arrivals at Dublin Airport. Aer Lingus cancelled eight flights between Dublin, London, Bristol and Birmingham because of the weather in England.
The DAA says there has been a knock on effect to their schedules, so passengers are advised to check their airline's web site before travelling to the airport.
It was a rough commute for many this morning. 98FM's Steven Cooper encountered a TRAMPOLINE on the road on his way to work this morning.
AA Roadwatch warned drivers to take extreme care, in particular truckers in high sided vehicles.
