Gardai Commended For Howth Harbour Rescue
Gardai are being praised for rescuing a man from the water in Howth Harbour in the early hours of this morning.
Local officers were the first on the scene after a car entered the water at about two am.
A man in the car had managed to get out before it sank and Gardai helped him get out of the water and brought him to safety.
Fire Brigade paramedics treated him at the scene and transferred him to Beaumont Hospital by ambulance, but he wasn't seriously injured.
Coastguard officials have commended the Gardai for their quick actions.
