Llyods Pharmacy Workers Continue To Strike Today
Lloyds Pharmacy workers are holding their eighth day of strike action today in a row over low pay and zero hour contracts.
Demonstrations are taking place at their pharmacy's throughout the country, including at 20 stores around Dublin, as well as at stores in Mullingar, Wexford and Sligo.
The action comes as 96% of the 270 staff represented by the Mandate union rejected the company's most recent proposals.
Pat Watt is a spokesperson for Lloyds Pharmacy, he says despite the strike, stores remain open:
"We have 88 stores across the county all bar eight stores are open today and our focus is on taking care of our customers."
