Irish Rail Staff Awarded For Helping Fans Get To The Aviva
Irish Rail staff at Pearse have been honoured for helping passengers get to big events at the Aviva Stadium. The Pearse events team has been named as the overall winner at this year's Always Safe Awards.
Station Manager Mick O'Grady and his team of 22 were praised for their "safe practices and efficiency" in helping get thousands of people off of and back onto trains before and after concerts and matches at the nearby stadium.
The Aviva can hold over 55,000 people, which Irish Rail's David Franks acknowledges "is a major undertaking " to do "safely and efficiently."
The Chief Executive of Irish Rail commended Pearse Station's manager, Mick O'Grady "and his team for their hard work and dedication in managing the transport logistics of major events at the Aviva Stadium".
