Airline Announces €99 Flights From Dublin To U.S.
Norwegian has announced another raft of cheap flights between Ireland and the U.S. The special offer includes 6000 seats at €99 on routes from Dublin, as well as Cork and Shannon.
The airline already flies daily from Dublin to smaller U.S. airports, which the company says "offer good access into the New York, Boston and New England areas."
This isn't the first time Norwegian has announced extremely low fares, but this announcement includes the first ever transatlantic flights to depart from Cork Airport. They will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, serving Providence Airport.
Norwegian Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Ramdahl said "Irish passengers now have another chance to bag a bargain flight to the US" and believes "there has never been a better time to plan an affordable American adventure."
The airline sold a number of flights between Ireland and the U.S. at €69 back in July, but some complained that the "deal" worked out more expensive once they added in the cost of baggage and any transfers or connections.
Earlier this month, Norwegian fought off claims from trade unions based in the U.S. that the airline set up an Irish branch to allow it employ low-paid crew and avoid tougher U.S. employment rules.
In a statement, Norwegian branded them "tired and false allegations", arguing that Dublin is home to 80 of its staff, and has 37 aircraft registered here.
Passengers hoping to snap up the €99 fares can book by June 3rd, and must fly between July 1st this year and March next year.
