Joe 'Xavi' Allen Says Goodbye Liverpool - Hello Stoke City!
The man dubbed the 'Welsh Xavi' by his former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, has left Merseyside to join Stoke City.
Joe Allen was superb for Wales as they reached the Euro 2016 semi-finals in France this summer but it was not enough to convince the current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to keep him.
The midfielder has signed a five year deal with the Potters who sealed the deal for a transfer fee of around €16 million which may seem like a snip.
He did however have just a year left to run on his current deal with the Reds and is now tied to their Premier League rivals until June 2021.
Allen started life at Swansea City before moving to Liverpool in 2012 and now teams up with Republic of Ireland international Glenn Whelan who signed a one year contract extension at the club this month.
