Zlatan Ibrahimovic Confirms Switch To Manchester United
One of football's worst kept secrets has finally been confirmed as Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he is bound for Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic became a free agent when he left Paris St Germain, at the end of the season, following four successful seasons in which he won four league titles and scored 156 goals in 180 games.
He is believed to have signed a one-year deal with Manchester United worth a reported €260,000-per-week.
The striker has won league titles with every team he has played with except for his first club Malmo in his native country.
The list of his former clubs is a who's who of European football giants; Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus, Ajax and Inter Milan.
It was with the latter that he last teamed up with United boss Jose Mourinho and Ibrahimovic's only regret was that their time together was so brief.
"We worked together for one year at Inter. The feeling was great between us and my only regret is that we were together for only one year."
He has also revealed in the past how the Portuguese's management style was a big help to him.
"Mourinho is the disciplinarian. Everything with him is a mind game - he likes to manipulate. Such tricks were new for me - all the time doing one thing to get another thing, all the time triggering me.
"I like these games and it worked for me; I became top scorer under him and we won the league."
If truth be told there would seem to be a real bro-mance between the pair and back in 2014 Mourinho lavished praise on his former player.
"A player who gave me as much as Ibra will always be in my heart. He did a lot for Inter and Inter did a lot for him. I like seeing Ibra.
"I greet him whenever I get the chance to and I wish him all the best - except when he plays against me. He is very special, he is one of the best strikers in the world."
Several years previous to those comments, Mourinho expressed the opinion that Ibrahimovic was better that a former United hero, Cristiano Ronaldo!
"Ronaldo is a good player but he is certainly not the best. He deserved the Golden Ball award because his team won the Champions League and the Premier League. But, for me, Ibrahimovic is the best."
The two men also have a shared hatred for Pep Guardiola who once managed (an unhappy) Ibrahimovic at Barcelona.
With the former Barca boss in charge at Manchester City now, next season's Manchester derby could be extra tasty!
