Injury Woes For Dublin Hurlers Ahead Of Laois Clash
Dublin hurling boss Ger Cunningham has yet another addition to his ever-growing injury list ahead of the round one qualifier against Laois on Saturday night.
The boys in blue host the Midlanders in Parnell Park after Dublin were well beaten by Galway, while Laois scrapped a win over Carlow by a single point.
Speaking to The Herald, selector Liam Walsh says the injury worries have resulted in frustration amongst the camp.
"We've had an awful lot of injuries, which has been frustrating. Some of them are coming good now. There are a few long-term injuries that are still there."
Dublin will definitely be without Oisin Gough (hamstring), Cian MacGabhann (hamstring), Daragh O'Connell (hamstring) and Cian Boland (knee).
There is some positive news for the Dubs ahead of Saturday's qualifier though, Fionntán MacGib and David O'Callaghan have recovered from a broken finger and hamstring strain respectively.
"We knew there was a five-week turnover after the Galway match and obviously there's going to be a heavier load in terms of your training" added Walsh.
He added, "so when you have that you're pushing your bodies fairly hard, some of these injuries can be picked up when you're doing that. The ground is harder at this time of year also."
