Dublin To Host Laois As Qualifier Pairings Announced
The Dublin Senior Hurlers have been drawn against Laois in Round 1B of the hurling championship. The draw took place on Morning Ireland this morning and threw up some interesting pairings.
Laois just about beat Carlow 2-14 to 1-16 yesterday afternoon while it will be the Dubs first match since a heavy defeat to Galway in the Leinster Championship.
Undoubtedly the pick of the matches is the clash between Kilkenny and Limerick. Reigning All-Ireland champions Tipperary will welcome Westmeath to Semple Stadium while Waterford head to Offaly.
The football draw was also made this morning. Monaghan who lost to Down over the weekend will head south to Wexford. Westmeath will look to pick themselves up after the annihilation against Dublin when they host Armagh.
Carlow and Leitrim go head to head while Cavan will welcome last year's semi-finalists Tipperary to Kingspan Breffni.
The exact dates, times and venues of the matches will be confirmed this afternoon with the hurling scheduled for the weekend of 1/2 July and the football a week later on 8/9 July.
