Katie Taylor in Line for Dublin World Title Fight
Katie Taylor is targeting a home World Title Fight before the end of the year.
The Olympic Gold Medalist made it five wins from five as a professional boxer last night, beating German Nina Meinke at Wembley Stadium.
The seventh-round stoppage gave Taylor her first professional title and a step towards a World Title shot against current lightweight champion Cecilia Comunales.
Promoter Eddie Hearn admitted that he would like to see Taylor fight in Ireland; but the Bray fighter will first make her debut in the USA.
"We are looking for an October-November date in Ireland for a world title," Hearn told Sky Sports.
"America is next in June or July, possibly on the Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev bill. She's the most entertaining female fighter on the planet - what you saw tonight was more professionalism."
