Diarmuid Connolly WILL Appeal 12-Week Ban- Reports
The Diarmuid Connolly suspension saga looks set to rumble on for a few more days, as he is set to appeal his 12-week ban after all.
He received the ban last week, after a “minor physical interference” involving linesman Ciaran Branagan in Dublin’s Leinster quarter final win over Carlow in Portlaoise earlier this month.
Reports on Friday suggested the St Vincent’s man would not appeal the suspension, which was set to rule him out of action for Dublin until a potential All-Ireland semi final in August.
However, today's Irish News reports that Connolly has now launched an appeal.
The paper reports that the Central Hearings Committee are likely to hear the appeal “in the coming days”.
