Liverpool Deny Claims Philippe Coutinho Has Submitted Transfer Request
Liverpool has denied claims that Philippe Coutinho has handed in a transfer request.
Barcelona reportedly had a third bud of over €100 million turned down for the Brazilian this week.
Friday was an eventful dayon Merseyside, Coutinho was ruled out of their Premier League opener with a back injury, then the club owners released a statement saying he would not be sold at any price.
The FSG group statement said: "The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes."
Reports followed that Coutinho has submitted a transfer request to the club in an effort to force a move through, Liverpool have since rubbished those reports.
Manager Jugen Klopp believes this story is bigger than the owners and the players - it's all about the supporters:
"When FSG say something like this it is 100 per cent clear," said Klopp. "You can read it and there is nothing else to say about it."
