Johnny Sexton Played With A Broken Wrist And Ruptured Ankle Tendon
Johnny Sexton played on with a broken wrist and ruptured ankle tendon for the Lions final test.
The Irish Independent report that the out-half broke a bone in his arm in during the second half of the Lions’ 24-21 win in Wellington against the All Blacks.
The 32-year-old played through the pain for the 15-15 draw in the final game before suffering a rupture in his ankle tendon and departing 7 minutes before the full-time whistle.
The ankle injury came in the first half and Sexton bravely battled on through the pain and played a key role in the game.
The good news is Sexton does not require surgery on either injury and should be fit for the start of Leinster's season.
