Man Fined Over Airplane Ebola Scare
An Italian who caused an Ebola scare on a flight to Dublin yesterday has got off with a warning.
56 year old Roberto Binaschi appeared in court after being arrested at the airport yesterday.
Gardai were called to Dublin Airport just before lunchtime after a passenger on board an Aer Lingus flight from Milan wrote "Attentione Ebola" on a coffee cup.
The businessman said in court today that he did it as a joke because his daughter is fussy about germs but that it was a big mistake.
Judge Anthony Halpin called it a serious matter but conceded it was a 'sick joke'.
He let the Italian man off with a warning and he agreed to make a 2,500 euro donation to the Capuchin Friary.
