Dublin Lord Mayor To Discuss Crowd Issues At Christmas Procession Of Light
The Lord Mayor of Dublin will meet with city officials to discuss crowd issues at last night's Christmas Procession of Light.
Up to 40,000 people made their way into the city centre to witness the Christmas Lights being switched on.
However, many left disappointed as Gardaí stopped one of the processions from converging on O'Connell Street due to crowd safety concerns.
Lord Mayor Mícheál Mac Donncha said "there were a number of people disappointed with the way things worked out, that has been conveyed to me both last night and since."
He added "I'm going to ask for a meeting with city officials just to see exactly what happened and to see if any lessons need to be learned from it."
