Bewley's Grafton Street Set To Reopen Next Month
Bewley's Cafe is set to open just in time for Christmas.
The well-known establishment on Grafton Street shut its doors in February 2015 to make way for a €12 million refurbishment.
The revamped cafe will cater for up to 500 customers and will have a new chocolate factory and bakery, according to The Sunday Business Post.
The investment is set to position the city centre café as a tourist hot spot similar to the likes of The Guinness Storehouse.
Bewley's was originally built in 1927 but closed down in 2015 for an initial six month refurbishment. This was later extended to a 33 month-long project.
The upstairs theatre has been entirely rebuilt and a side entrance at Johnson's Court is to be reopened.
The stained glass windows designed by Harry Clarke are being restored and a number of open fires will be brought back into use.
