Weather Warning For The Country As Storm Brian Arrives
Only days after Storm Ophelia caused death and destruction across the country, Ireland is bracing itself for yet another wet and windy few days.
Storm Brian made landfall on the west coast this morning and is currently over the capital.
The public are being advised to stay away from exposed beaches, cliffs, piers, and harbour walls as Storm Brian passes over the country this afternoon.
You're being asked to respect the water and, in particular, avoid exposed places where big waves could sweep you off your feet.
The Irish Coast Guard's Gerard O'Flynn has warned the public:
"Don't be going to areas that you're not familiar with and on't be tempting faith by taking risks on exposed shores because the wind will be quite strong. It's gusting up to storm force."
"It is extremely dangerous so don't take any unnecessary risks."
There is a status yellow wind warning for Dublin and the rest of Leinster today with gusts of up to 110km/h.
