Public Invited To Homeless Meeting
Dubliners are being invited to a public meeting on homelessness tonight. Organisers say they want as many voices as possible, including people who are currently homeless. The discussion will be held at the Academy Plaza Hotel off O'Connell Street from half seven this evening.
The meeting is open to everyone so we hope to have a mix of people currently experiencing homelessness, homeless campaigners, NGO's and members of the public. Key speakers on the night will be Anthony Flynn, Erica Fleming, Mick Caul and David Nugent.
Anthony Flynn from Inner City Helping Homeless said the meeting has been called to address "the biggest social crisis in Ireland at present."
"Alongside this we will have views from the public, recommendations from experts within the field and will create a report to forward to the Minister of Housings office in the subsequent days", he said.
The meeting, takes place this Wednesday August 16th at 7.30pm in the Academy Plaza Hotel, 10-14 Findlater Place off O'Connell St, is open to all.
