Pro Life Group Banned From Protesting At Dublin Airport
Dublin Airport is to ban anti-choice protests that were due to take place in the coming weeks.
The Irish Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform plans to use placards with graphic images, aimed at convincing women not to travel for an abortion.
Under bye laws, any protests or distribution of leaflets or pamphlets at airports are prohibited unless the airport gives permission.
The Coalition to Repeal the 8th says the decision by anti-abortion campaigners to protest at airports is unacceptable.
"I think all of us respect each others right to protest but not to indimidate people in this way", says Ailbhe Smyth from the group.
"Not to behave in a way which will only cause and can only cause greater distress and stress for women who are travelling to Britain for reproductive healthcare services".
The group wants to display images on 15ft x 15ft placards and has written to supporters urging them to "start caring less" about being disliked by the public.
