Dublin Bikes Rival Scheme Forced Off Streets
A new bike rental service in Dublin has been forced to take their bikes off the streets. Dublin City Council removed a number of BleeperBikes after warning the company that it was operating without a licence.
Bleeper Bike is a new short-term rental service similar to the Dublin Bike scheme, but the problem is that the Dublin bikes are authorised by the city council and bleeper bikes are not.
The local authority warned that it would take away bleeper bikes and now it's confirmed it's removed some from a number locations.
Following a meeting with the council yesterday bleeper bikes then removed the rest of its bikes. The company is now waiting for the introduction of bylaws so that it can operate it's scheme.
A report on the by laws will be put to a council committee tomorrow.
