International School Discusses Setting Aside Places For Executive's Children
A new private international school set to open next year in South Dublin is in talks with a number of multi-national forms over setting aside places for children of executives or diplomats.
The discussions have been with technology and aviation companies as well as embassies.
The school will be operated by Nord Anglia Education, a Hong Kong-based firm and will be located in an office block formerly used by Microsoft in Leopardstown.
According to the Irish Times, the firm describes itself as being the "world's leading premium schools organisation."
They run schools across Europe, with its fees coming around €20,000 a year for second level day pupils. It is thought that the fee for the Dublin school will be similar, but bursaries are being prepared for a number of less well-off students.
The school will focus on the International Baccalaureate rather than the State curriculum.
Up to 800 students will be catered for in the school and recruitment of teachers is likely to begin in the new year.
