Sites At Connolly Station And Dundrum Earmarked For New Homes
New publicly owned sites are to be offered to developers to build homes in a bid to deal with the housing crisis.
More than 800 sites owned by local authorities and public bodies are set to be offered to the private market to help boost housing supply.
According to the Irish Independent, new sites are to become available in Dublin include land around Connolly station, and the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum, while a site at Kilcarbery near Clondalkin could provide up to almost 900 units if developed.
Sites already earmarked to build homes include Infirmary Road in the north inner city, Emmet Road in Inchicore and Oscar Traynor Road in Dubin 9.
It's believed 4 sites in Dublin alone could result in 3,000 homes if the plan is successful.
Developments on local authority lands will also benefit from a fast-track planning process.
