Gardaí Investigate Shooting In Coolock Overnight
A 45 year old man has been injured in a shooting in the northside.
It's after another man entered his home at Belcamp Cresent, Coolock shortly before midnight and fired shots.
The man suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his leg when another man forced entry to his house and shot a gun.
The victim received medical attention at the scene before being taken to Beaumont Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the attack.
The culprit has been described as a young man, 5 foot 7 inches in height and was wearing a balaclava, a navy coloured hoodie, black gloves and black runners at the time.
He fled from the scene on foot to a car which was waiting nearby. A short time later, a blue BMW saloon was discovered partially burnt out at Greenwood Walk.
A second car, a green coloured Honda CRV was later located close to Shamrock Cottages in the North Strand area.
Both vehicles have been seized for technical examination and scenes have been preserved.
Investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made.
