Two North Side Student Accommodation Schemes To Be Redesigned
Two major projects for students accommodation on the north side have to be redesigned.
It's due to overcrowding concerns around the new Grangegorman DIT campus.
According to the Irish Times, council planners have sent two major scheme, which would provide housing for almost 1000 students, back to the drawing board.
The council has asked the developers to justify student housing rather than standard residential accommodation.
The larger of the two schemes proposes the demolition of the Park Shopping Centre on Prussia Street, which the council wants scaled back.
The council has also called for the redesign of a development on a site between the North Circular Road and Rathdown Road.
