Talks To End the Dublin Bus Strikes Are Underway
Both sides in the Dublin Bus pay row are locked in talks at the Workplace Relations Commission.
Unions called off today's 48 hour strike strike to allow for four days of intense negotiations.
Workers who are with SIPTU and the National Bus and Rail Union have held six days of stoppages already, as part of their campaign for a 15% pay increase.
Dublin Bus says it can only afford the 8.25% raise which was recommended by the Labour court.
SIPTU's Owen Reidy says his members are ready to compromise if Dublin Bus management is:
"If the company is serious about this, they know a solution has to be an improvement on what was achieved in the Labour Relations Commission. And if they're prepared to do that, they won't find the union wanting when it comes to our requirement and our obligation to compromise."
