Double Bed Ban At Catholic Run Apartments
A Catholic housing agency has refused to allow single or widowed elderly residents to put double beds in their state-funded apartments.
Fr. Scully House in the north inner city, is run by the Catholic Housing Aid Society.
Its one bed apartments have single beds and residents have been told they are not allowed to swap them for doubles, even if they pay for the new beds themselves.
Some residents had already swapped the beds but were told to change them back.
The housing agency says it's not in a position to store unwanted beds and it says it's trying to maintain certain standards.
