ESB HQ To Get 150 Million Euro Upgrade
ESB plans to demolish and redevelop its 1960s Fitzwilliam Street headquarters have been approved as a cost of 150 million euro.
Planning permission for a complete redevelopment of the site has been granted by Dublin City Council.
But the company will have to detail how it will protect the architecture of the surrounding Georgian buildings.
Its not the only building in the area in line for an upgrade.
Councillors will be asked next week to approve plans to covert Longfields Hotel into a homeless hostel.
However fears that this negatively impact the redevelopment of the ESB's HQ have been lodged.
The ESB said it has not made any submission to the council in relation to the hostel.
