Gin Distillery Opens in Wicklow
Small distilleries are cropping up all over Ireland these days.
There's Teelings in the Liberties and Listoke in Drogheda, not to mention all the craft brewers brewing up a storm.
The latest 'boutique' distillery is opening in Newtownmountkennedy in Co. Wicklow. (Try typing that in a text after a few tipples.)
Bonac 24 has been set up by 25 year old Gavin Clifford and his dad Michael after he came home from a spell in New York.
The first drink to be produced there is a gin. Apparently it boasts "a sublime blend of natural botanicals that deliver hints of citrus, mint and star anise."
The lads recommend serving it with tonic and rasberry and lime for the summer months.
Bonac 24 is available in O'Briens, Mitchell’s in the IFSC and Glasthule, Blackrock Cellar, Whelehan’s Wines in Loughlinstown, Higgins in Clonskeagh, L Mulligan Whiskey Shop in the Powerscourt Centre and Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson Street.
