Three Dublin Men Jailed Over Planned Cash In Transit Robbery
Three Dublin men have been jailed for seven and a half years after pleading guilty to planning a cash in transit robbery in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
The incident took place in October 2016, when the gang targeted a van and ATM holding around €2m.
A gun, crowbar, cable ties, duct tape, and a stanley knife were found in a disused building, where two of the accused had been lying in wait.
It was found that the accused had gone to extraordinary lengths to protect themselves against forensics, and were wearing tight clothes, ski masks and two sets of gloves at the time.
They were arrested by Gardaí following a surveillance led operation which was conducted over a number of weeks.
