The Transport Minister has announced a ten minute DART service is to be introduced later this year.
Shane Ross has been speaking at a round table discussion with 70 reps for various organisations including the National Transport Agency, Unions and disability campaign groups.
Plans for ten minute DARTs had stalled over a dispute with unions centering around the mentoring of trainee drivers.
While a Labour Court recommendation was accepted back in April, the National Bus and Railworkers Union warns negotiations with drivers still have to be finalised before the frequent service can begin.
There's also good news for Kildare commuters. Minister Ross has also revealed the rail link to the city centre via the Phoenix Park tunnel will be expanded to an all-day service.
