Renewed Information Appeal After Double Ballymun Murder
Gardai are renewing an appeal for information following a double murder in Ballymun in Dublin on Wednesday. Antoinette Corbally and Clinton Shannon were killed in the attack by two men at Balbutcher Drive.
The target of the gun attack was Derek 'Bottler' Devoy, a violent criminal who is Antoinette's brother. Their brother known as 'Mad Mickey' was killed by the Kinahan cartel in January 2014 following his release from prison in Portlaoise.
It's understood Derek had been travelling in a car with the man in his 30s when they stopped off at Antoinette's home. Derek had been carrying a young toddler into the house when the shooting happened.
A second toddler and two other people who were there at the time were injured, however their wounds are not life threatening.
Chief Superintendent Lorraine Wheatley said "an innocent young man and a mother of eight have been killed and we are appealing for the community to come forward".
She said they are particularly interested in two cars. A silver Opel Zafira with an 08 Laois reg, and a Volkswagen Golf GTI with an 06 Louth reg. They're particularly interested in speaking to delivery drivers who may have dashcam footage.
The killings are being linked to a year-long local drugs feud, rather than the ongoing Hutch Kinahan gangland war.
Detectives fear there may be revenge attacks amid tension in the area.
