"Regular Contact" Between Leinster & Ireland Over Healy & Ross Fitness
Cian Healy and Mike Ross will start for Leinster in tomorrow's Guinness PRO12 clash with Zebre at the RDS.
They have returned from hamstring and knee injuries respectively to take their places either side of James Tracy in the front row.
There had been speculation earlier this week that the pair were set to join up with the Ireland squad ahead of this weekend’s Six Nations clash with France, with Ross seen as the more likely of the duo to transfer over to Carton House.
However, it was decided between the Leinster and Ireland coaching staffs that the players would both benefit more from staying with Leinster to build their match fitness, as Leinster head coach Leo Cullen told 98FM Sport’s Derek Ryan earlier:
Cullen was speaking at a visit to one of Leinster’s charity partners, the Centre for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) at Tallaght Hospital earlier today.
CRY are primarily focused on Sudden Adult Death Syndrome and finding a cure for same.
