New Temple Bar Mural To Celebrate Iconic Dublin Phrases
As a nation we really have a way with words, our unique lingo often confusing visitors to our capital city.
From our sarcastic "I will, ye" to the ever iconic "Ah here leave it out" we've created a colourful language which we speak very proudly.
Dublin City Council, along with The Temple Bar Company, are creating a mural to celebrate our much loved Dublin phrases.
The "Dublin Sayings" piece is part of the Love The Lanes initiative, and they are calling out to the public to submit their most loved local slang for the chance for them to become immortalised in art form.
The organisations have collaborated on the campaign in a bid to restore the lanes of Temple Bar and intervene in some of the anti-social issues in the area.
In the past three years they have commissioned numerous artworks, bringing life back to some of the disused lane ways.
Vanessa Power is the creator of the newest piece and it will be unveiled in Crampton Court on October 5th.
