New Clinic To Fill Rise In Demand For Botox
One of Dublin's most popular cosmetic clinics is opening a new outlet that will only offer Botox and fillers.
Thérapie says it's hiring 20 people to work at its new Aesthetic Clinic, which will open on South William Street in early September.
Thérapie Clinic CEO, Phillip McGlade, said they are opening the new clinic "to meet rapidly increasing customer demand for Botox and fillers in Ireland".
"We have seen this area of our business triple in the past few months, with thousands of new customers coming in over the summer for Botox and filler treatments", he said.
The announcement comes as Superdrug reveals plans to start offering Botox injections at one of its London branches.
The pharmacy chain says demand for the wrinkle-smoothing treatment has increased recently, partly it says, following the popular season of Love Island.
The non-surgical procedure involves injecting filler into the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles.
As demand for the injectibles increases, one Irish plastic surgeon is warning people to consider all the consequences before going ahead with the treatment.
Consultant plastic surgeon at Cork University Hospital, Jim Clover, says it's important to take time to consider such procedures.
"Think over before you make over, it is important to go in and have a consultation, and then go away and have a cooling-off period and think about it", he said.
